About
Sarah Woodhead Bacon

Sarah Woodhead Bacon is an experienced and trusted advisor to conservation organizations around the world. She is deeply committed to the preservation of wild landscapes and the conservation of biodiversity and endangered species.

Sarah sits on the Board of Space for Giants, an organization dedicated to protecting the remaining natural ecosystems of East Africa where the highest density of elephants is found. The organization works alongside African presidents from six countries, who form the Giants Club, to stop poaching, strengthen the judiciary system, and prevent human-elephant conflict. Sarah also serves on the Board of Directors of One Earth, a nonprofit organization working to solve the climate crisis through groundbreaking science, inspiring media, and climate philanthropy.

In 2017, Sarah co-founded the Leuser Ecosystem Action Fund (LEAF) alongside partners Ben Goldsmith and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, with the mission to protect the 2.4 million hectares of rainforest in Northern Sumatra that are home to the region’s last orangutans, tigers, rhinos, and elephants. She has leveraged her public relations experience to raise awareness of the critical importance of the rainforest and has organized events that have raised more than $5mm to support its conservation.

Additionally, Sarah helped launch the newly redesigned Islas Secas in the Gulf of Chiriquí, Panama. Sarah’s expertise in branding, image, and sustainability helped develop the luxury eco-lodge located on the 14-island archipelago off the Pacific coast and continues to raise awareness of its dedication to the conservation and sustainability of the region’s exceptional biodiversity.

Earlier in her career, Sarah managed large-scale events for film, fashion, lifestyle, and music, and built an established network of executives and philanthropists who are passionate about making a meaningful impact on the world. In 1999, Sarah launched Woodhead Calliva, a premier public relations firm that supported leading organizations and charities, and later launched her own consultancy focusing on individual clients.

Sarah serves on the board of the Bacon Foundation, a private family foundation that works to protect natural resources and inspire future environmental stewards. She also serves as an Ambassador for both Journeys with Purpose and Panama Wildlife Conservation.

Sarah Woodhead Bacon lives with her husband, Louis Bacon. Both are leading voices in advocating for wildlife conservation and the protection of biodiversity.

"Conservation isn't just about protecting landscapes or species in isolation—it's about preserving the intricate web that connects all living things. Our responsibility to safeguard biodiversity isn't just about preserving what remains—it's about restoring balance and ensuring these precious ecosystems thrive for generations to come."
